Statement: Creeland Dancers mourn the passing of Janet Regan of Green Lake, SK

Saskatoon, SK, Treaty 6 – The Creeland Dancers released the following statement today on news of the passing of our friend, Janet Regan of Green Lake, SK:

We are all saddened to learn of the passing of our long-time friend Janet Regan of Green Lake.

Janet was the founder of the Green Lake Square Dancers and we shared many stages with their group often enjoying time, making memories, and sharing laughs with each other after a competition or performance.

We were so glad to see Janet this past summer at her jamboree in honour of her late mother – we were welcomed to the festival and the community of Green Lake with loving, open arms. Janet’s commitment to preserving and promoting Metis culture, and her passion for dance will truly be missed.

Our founder, Therese Seesequasis joins the Creeland Dancers in extending our heartfelt condolences to Janet’s friends, her family, her community, and all those in the Metis Square Dancing/Jigging family mourning our shared loss.
